We are pleased to announce the 5th European Conference on ICT for Transport Logistics
(ECITL '12) November 7-9, 2012 in Gothenburg, Sweden. This year's conference will focus on
"Smart Freight to enable sustainable logistics solutions" and will highlight innovations and
applications in this area.

10.05.2012 - Logistics for LIFE final event results
The Final Event of L4Life was held at the Transport Research Arena (TRA) 2012 Conference in Athens from the 23rd to the 25th of April, which consisted of a special session and a booth at the EC-stand. The TRA conference is one of the few big conferences in this sector with more than 2000 participants in 2012 and was suitable to held the final event. The Conference was contributed to innovation in sustainable mobility for Europe, by bringing together all the stakeholders of the transport system and dealt extensively with all surface transport modes: road, rail and waterborne and underlined interlinks between them.
The special session was held on Tuesday 24th of April from 18:15 to 19:30 and was called "ICT for sustainable logistics: best practices and roadmap to 2020".
The collaborative spirit that characterized the Logistics for LIFE Coordination Action was enforced by the contributed presentation of Georgia Ayfantopoulou (CERTH/ HIT), coordinator of the Smart CM project. Due to the fact that there was a big welcome party organized by the commission the consortium was able only to attract three external participants at its session.
The Logistics for LIFE participation to the conference extended over the special session with a booth at the European Commission stand and presentations held at the main area by several project partners to show results and challenges that the future research and development on Information and Communication Technologies for transport research must face to ensure the sustainability and the competitiveness of the sector in Europe. A touchscreen was shown at the booth with the Intelligent Cargo game and a multiple choice test about the partner projects and was run by our qualified project partners from different companies and areas.
23.03.2012 - Logistics for LIFE final event
The Logistics for LIFE project is glad to invite you all to its final event, on the 23rd-26th April 2012, in Athens. The event will take place at the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre, in the occasion of the TRA Conference 2012.
Logistics for LIFE will be hosted at the European Commission booth, (see map) to welcome all the interested guests and provide information over the projects results and achievements.
Focused presentations will be provided by partners of the Consortium during the special session "ICT for sustainable logistics: best practices and roadmap to 2020", scheduled on April the 24th, starting at 6pm, in the Conference Suite I.

16.09.2011 - L4LIFE at the 4th ECITL in Thessaloniki
The L4LIFE project together with its associated projects e-FREIGHT, EURIDICE, FREIGHTWISE, INTEGRITY and SMARTFREIGHT are participating on this year's ECITL conference on the 13th and 14th of October. This year's conference will focus on interoperability among logistics systems and will demonstrate its benefits in terms of cost savings, lead-time and/or energy efficiency.
In the course of the conference, there will be several satellite events, e.g. the EURIDICE final event or the Smart-CM Exploitation Workshop.

01.04.2011 - L4LIFE/e-Freight round table within the eFreightconference in conjunction to the Transport Logistic in Munich
Logistics for LIFE will co-organize a round table session with experts from the Logistic sector within the eFreight conference on the 10 - 11 May 2011 in Munich.
This conference will be held in conjunction to the Transport Logistic in Munich. The eFreight conference is an excellent opportunity to network with researchers, practitioners and policy makers in order to make freight transport logistics more sustainable, more competitive, more efficient and better connected in a cost effective manner.
The EU projects e-Freight, SKEMA, PROPS, SUPPORT; DiSCwise, CONTAIN, CASSANDRA and eMAR invite industry, research and academic communities to meet and discuss how to best establish a new paradigm for electronic information exchange in freight transport and logistics.

23.03.2010 - Logistics for LIFE partner VTT has been invited to the "10th International Scientifically-Practical Conference - Logistics: The modern directions of development"
This international conference will take place in St. Petersburg, Russia, on the 14 - 15 April 2011. Martin Ollus from VTT is invited to have a joint presentation with Wladimir Segercrantz: "Greening East - West Cargo Transport" as well as a presentation entitled: "Intelligent Cargo and Sustainable Logistics".
The conference is organised by the St.-Petersburg State Engineering-Economic University and expects a high number of participants. The invitation demonstrates the importance of "Sustainable Logistics" also beyond the European borders and enforces the strategic partnership with the Russian University.
09.03.2010 - Logistics for LIFE has been invited to the "Bridging ICT4EE R&D Approaches and Communities: a challenge for FP8" workshop
Logistics for LIFE has been invited to participate in the "Bridging ICT4EE R&D Approaches and Communities: a challenge for FP8" workshop on the 14th of April 2011 in Brussels. Paolo Paganelli (Coordinator/Insiel) and Margherita Forcolin (Insiel) will talk about "ICT in Energy Efficieny Logistic" and the "Intelligent Cargo Forum and the Logistics for LIFE showcase".
This half-day event is held in conjunction to the" Sustainable Energy Week" from 11 - 15 April 2011 in Brussels.

09.03.2010 - L4Life presentation video at ICT4EE available as webcast

31.08.2010 - L4LIFE networking session at the ICT 2010 in Brussels

The session will be organised as a panel discussion with representatives from industry, research and the European Commission to discover

and to match these with the FP7-ICT-2011/2012 Work Programme.

02.02.2010 - ECITL 2010 - L4Life Main Event
The organization for the 3rd European Conference on ICT for Transport Logistics (ECITL 2010) in Bremen, on 4th and 5th of November 2010 has already started and the event is the main event for the L4Life project and the organization of it is lead by the project. The preparation of the programme and agenda is currently worked on, for stay informed about the event and the programme you can register on the event website.

01.02.2010 - L4Life first event participation
L4Life will be present for the first time with a small booth at the EU High Level event on ICT for Energy Efficiency in Brussels from 23 - 24 of February in Brussels. We are looking forward to meet some of you there.

20.01.2010 - L4Life Kickoff Meeting
The L4Life kickof meeting took place in Dornbirn, Austria, in the border trianlge (Austria, Germany, Switzerland) near Lake Constance. The particiapants from the consortium are looking forward to a good cooperation between the partners and the upcoming years of work on the objectives of the project.
